Multi-Directional Passive RFID Tag Sound Recordingmicrophone

UHF RFID tags have made large leaps in technology lately. They used to read at greatly differing read distances depending on the orientation of the tag. New tags have come out within the last year with dual or orthogonal antennas which allow the tag to have consistent read range regardless of the orientation. This is very useful for stationary tags such as those found in surgical inventory systems. In particular, these Multi-Directional Passive RFID Tags are ideal for tracking high value Operative Room Products, such as cardiac stents, which are priced at around $2,000 per small box.  Placing a $2.00 tag on a $2,000 box to wirelessly track of the product’s expiration date and quantity produces a high return.  If just one item that normally might have gone unused is returned or used before the expiration date, the system has paid for itself.  Additionally, these passive tags can be used for a multitude of other applications, such as tracking books, files or many other items.  Contact Matrix Product Development for details.
