Common problems with commercial oven temperature reading1) Troublesome wiresCommercial ovens often have areas which are extremely difficult to reach with traditional wired sensors. Even if someone is able to get a wired sensor to the appropriate spot, the cord attached to the sensor results in poor reliability. The cord can easily be cut, damaged, or even tripped over during a business's daily operating activities. The problem is compounded when a commercial oven must be reconfigured. The wires are often forgotten about and thus destroyed when the equipment is moved. 2) Fragile sensorsTraditional wired temperature gauges are often not suitable for the rigorous exercises which they are put through. Some are not capable of enduring the extreme temperatures and temperature fluctuations present in the commercial oven environment. Some cannot take the increased pressure or constant vibrations which are characteristic of certain stages in a commercial conveyor oven. 3) Delayed responseWhen a problem occurs, managers need to know about it as soon as it happens. Temperature sensors which do not provide real-time information can be the sole source for thousands of dollars in losses. Examine a common commercial oven example. If the temperature in just one phase of a commercial oven is set too high, water can be cooked out of the meat. This lowers weight (affecting selling price) and texture (affecting value). Managers must be made aware of these sorts of problems as soon as they occur. 4) Transportation headachesIf a sensor is placed in a suboptimal location within the commercial oven, it must be relocated. However, relocating sensors can be an even larger issue than placing the sensor in the first place. Cords and wires have to be uprooted and moved. Maintenance personnel not only have to dismantle the sensor, in its original difficult location, but transfer and install it in yet another difficult location. This process can be extremely complex and lengthy, costing both labor and machine operability. 5) Tedious data-loggingUn-automated temperature sensors are extremely taxing and inefficient. Commercial oven technicians are paid to record the temperature data as it is produced. This takes them away from more pressing and substantive matters which should be the center of their attention. The Solution – Wyze Temp®Our wireless temperature sensor provides the commercial oven solution.
